New York’s Responsible Play Partnership brings groundbreaking problem gambling awareness series to the Capital Region

SCHENECTADY, NY - The innovative event will bring New York’s gaming operators and problem gambling service providers together for the first time to discuss the issues and opportunities that lie ahead given the State’s changing gambling landscape. The free event will feature remarks from representatives from New York’s Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS), the state agency tasked with administering New York’s vast network of problem gambling treatment services, the New York State Gaming Commission, the New York Council on Problem Gambling and Rivers Resort and Casino at Mohawk Harbor and Lago, which are seeking licenses to operate destination resort casinos in New York State.

 

The event will also provide gaming operators and problem gambling providers an opportunity to showcase their responsible gaming programs and services.

 

The event will be hosted by Schenectady County Community College, which offers the area’s only Casino and Gaming Management degree program.

 

Who:         New York’s Lottery, video lottery, horse racing, harness racing and commercial casino operators meet with problem gambling prevention, treatment and referral professionals to talk about expanded gaming in New York.

 

What:        “Let’s Start the Conversation” problem gambling awareness series.
