ADVISORY: MTA Announces Fall Schedule for L Project Accessibility, Station Improvements

 

Senior leadership of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) will provide details of upcoming accessibility projects and station improvement work that will require some weekend and weeknight partial closings to sections of the l Line.
 
The larger l Project is made up of multiple projects, including a major tunnel rehabilitation, capacity and accessibility improvements and other additional capital projects. The tunnel work, which is being done using a revised approach that maintains normal service for 88% of weekday l customers, remains ahead of schedule.

Separately, the MTA is moving forward on accessibility, mobility and stations work. This work includes a new escalator at 14 St-Union Sq and new elevators and platforms at 14 St-6 Av to make the entire 123flm station complex fully accessible.
 
Construction on these projects begins during select weekends and weeknights, starting the weekend of Sept. 13-16.
