New York State Energy Storage Roadmap Public Statement Hearings Scheduled

— Comments Sought On Whether To Adopt Recommendations —

ALBANY — The New York State Public Service Commission (Commission) today announced it was seeking public comment on whether to adopt recommendations set forth in the New York State Energy Storage Roadmap (Roadmap) that was filed by the Staff of the Department of Public Service (DPS) and the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) on June 21, 2018.

Developed by DPS and NYSERDA staff with input from numerous stakeholders, the Roadmap was prepared in response to Public Service Law Section 74. The statute requires the Commission to establish a target for the installation of qualified energy storage systems to be achieved through the year 2030, as well as programs to enable New York State to meet that target. DPS and NYSERDA held several technical conferences in collaboration with the New York Green Bank, the New York Independent System Operator, Long Island Power Authority, and PSEG Long Island to present the Roadmap recommendations and seek input from stakeholders.

The Roadmap may be viewed online (go to www.dps.ny.gov, and then search using case number "18-E-0130"), or at the following link:
