Verrazano Bridge Belt Parkway Ramps Closed Nightly 11 pm–5 am For Repaving Work 10/1 – 10/4 and 10/8 – 10/11

The Belt Parkway ramps leading to both Brooklyn and Staten Island at the Verrazano–Narrows Bridge will be closed nightly from 11 pm to 5 am, beginning Brooklyn-bound from Monday, Oct. 1 through Thursday morning, Oct. 4, and then Staten Island-bound from Monday, Oct. 8 through Thursday morning, Oct. 11, for necessary repaving work. Both ramps will be opened to traffic during daytime hours, and there will be no full ramp closures on Friday through Sunday nights.

All work is weather–permitting and overnight Thursday on Oct. 4 and Oct. 11 will be used as an alternative if necessary. Signs will be posted along the route to alert motorists that detours are in place.

Eastbound (to Brooklyn):

The detour for Brooklyn-bound motorists seeking the Belt Parkway will be the 92nd Street Exit, and then follow posted detour signage to Bay 8th Street for connection to Belt Parkway.

Westbound (to Staten Island):

The detour for Staten Island-bound motorists will be either the Bay 8th Street Exit or the 4th Ave./Fort Hamilton Parkway Exit, then follow detour signage to the bridge.

Motorists should expect delays and plan accordingly, or use an alternate route.

Motorists can sign up for MTA e-mail or text alerts at www.mta.info and check the Bridges and Tunnels homepage or Facebook page for the latest information on this planned work.
