New York State Office of Children and Family Services to Hold Hearings on Federal 2025-2027 Child Care and Development Fund Draft PlanFederally Funded Program Will Increase Availability, Affordability and Quality of Child Care Services |

The New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) will hold three virtual public hearings, May 8-10, on New York State’s proposed three-year plan to receive assistance under the Social Security Act and the Child Care and Development Block Grant (CCDBG) Act of 2014, also known as the Child Care and Development Fund. The state’s proposed plan will cover the period of October 1, 2024 – September 30, 2027. The purpose of this federal block grant program is to increase the availability, affordability and quality of child care services. Federal funds would be available to assist New York State in supporting subsidies for all child care services to low-income families upon the plan’s approval by the United States Department of Health and Human Services. Pursuant to the Child Care and Development Block Grant Act, the public is invited to provide input into the development of the final plan. Information about the state’s proposed three-year child care plan will be available on the OCFS CCDF website. How to Register to Attend and Submit Comments
Due to the participant limitations of Webex, members of the public interested in attending the virtual public hearing are encouraged to log into their preferred session early. Live interpretation for all sessions will be provided in Spanish. The virtual hearings are scheduled as follows: Date: Wednesday, May 8, 2024 Time: 1:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m.
Time: 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
