WHAT: The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation will join local officials, community partners, and advocates in making a major announcement about a new accessibility and inclusivity initiative ahead of World Migratory Bird Day on May 9, 2026.

WHERE: Frederick Douglass Community Library, 971 South Ave., Rochester, 14620 

Following the press event, there will be education stations set up for children to learn how to use binoculars, go on a bird walk, see and learn about live birds of prey, as well as a life-size board game of the Bird Migration Challenge. The education stations will be set up a short walk from the press event.
