ADVISORY: MTA Officials to Participate in Remembrance Walk with Family of Stephen Siller and Tunnel to Towers Foundation

** FOR MEDIA PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY; NOT FOR PUBLICATION, BROADCAST OR SOCIAL MEDIA **

MTA Bridges and Tunnels President Daniel DeCrescenzo and Acting Vice President and Chief of Operations Richard Hildebrand, along with other MTA officials, will participate in a remembrance walk through the Hugh L. Carey Tunnel with the family of Stephen Siller, commemorating the FDNY firefighter’s run through the tunnel to the World Trade Center on 9/11. While the COVID-19 pandemic has forced the cancellation of the usual large-scale annual event, Siller's immediate family is keeping the remembrance alive with a small family event. Media are invited to speak to the participants after they emerge from the Manhattan side of the tunnel.

WHEN:

Sunday, Sept. 27 at 8:30 a.m.

WHERE:

Manhattan side of the Hugh L. Carey Tunnel, at the southeast corner of West St and Tunnel entrance, one block north of Morris St. Media will be escorted to a safe vantage point from which to see the tunnel portal.
