OGS ANNOUNCES A SPECIAL PERFORMANCE BY “MY LITTLE PONY” AT THIS YEAR’S KIDS DAY EVENT PRESENTED BY MVP HEALTH CARE

Free Family Event Saturday, July 13 in West Capitol Park

New York State Office of General Services (OGS) Commissioner Jeanette Moy today invited children and their families to enjoy the 2024 Kids Day Presented by MVP Health Care, a free, kid-centric outdoor event from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, in West Capitol Park. This year’s event will feature an interactive performance and meet-and-greet by Izzy and Sunny from “My Little Pony.”

“We are looking forward to hosting this year’s Kids Day at West Capitol Park, an annual OGS event that brings together children and their loved ones to have fun and enjoy the day’s activities and performances,” Commissioner Moy said. “We want to thank our longstanding partner for this event, MVP Health Care, and all of our generous sponsors who are making this fun-filled event possible.”

“We are so proud to once again partner with OGS to support Kids Day in Albany. This unique event provides families across the Capital Region with an opportunity to enjoy fun and creative activities that can support both physical and mental health for children,” said MVP Health Care’s Chief Marketing and Sales Officer, Deborah Brundage. “MVP will be at West Capitol Park throughout the day with games and giveaways that kids and families of all ages will be sure to enjoy. We look forward to seeing you there and celebrating this exciting day here in our vibrant community.”

This year’s Kids Day will include storytelling by “My Little Pony’s” Izzy and Sunny on the importance of friendship, magic, humor, self-expression, and adventure. During the meet-and-greet, kids will have a chance to take photos with Izzy and Sunny to capture the special day.

Also, the New York State Museum will be exhibiting different fossil animals and plants from the museum that children can learn about and compare to the fossils’ living relatives.

  • Train Rides with Roaming Railroad

  • Matica Circus Roaming Stilt Walker and Unicyclist (12–2 p.m.)

Capital Concert Series Presented by Miller Lite

Presented by Miller Lite, the Capital Concert Series features four Wednesday evening performances from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on the Empire State Plaza’s outdoor stage.

Capitol Park After Dark Movie Series

The Capitol Park After Dark movie series features films suitable for the entire family. Shown on a large screen in West Capitol Park on three consecutive Wednesdays, movies start promptly at 8 p.m.

Lunchtime at the Plaza Concert Series Presented by M&T Bank

Held in conjunction with the Empire State Plaza outdoor farmers market and food vendor programs, the free outdoor concert series presented by M&T Bank provides live music from noon to 1:30 p.m. on 10 Wednesdays between June 5 and August 21.

  • July 10 — The Old Time Dance Band (dixie and swing)
  • July 17 — Hammer Head Horns (New Orleans jazz/ragtime)
