Insulation & Asbestos Workers Recruit Apprentices |

Peekskill, NY (August 9, 2013) – The Asbestos Workers JAC, Local Union #91, will conduct a recruitment from Wednesday, August 21, 2013 through Wednesday, September 4, 2013 for four insulation and asbestos worker apprentices, State Labor Commissioner Peter M. Rivera announced today. Applications can be obtained at the Local Union #91 office, 1024 McKinley St., Peekskill, NY, Monday through Friday from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., excluding legal holidays, during the recruitment period. Applications will not be available on Labor Day, September 2, 2013. Applications will be accepted during the recruitment period or until 50 applications have been issued, whichever comes first. The applications must be completed and returned to the above address no later than Monday, September 9, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. The Committee requires that applicants:
For further information, applicants should contact their nearest New York State Department of Labor office or Local Union #91 at (914) 788-0400. Apprentice programs registered with the Department of Labor must meet standards established by the Commissioner. Under state law, sponsors of programs cannot discriminate against applicants because of race, creed, color, national origin, age, sex, disability or marital status. Women and minorities are encouraged to submit applications for apprenticeship programs. Sponsors of programs are required to adopt affirmative action plans for the recruitment of women and minorities.
