Go Retro at Whiteface this Sunday

WILMINGTON, N.Y. --- There’s still plenty of great skiing and riding heading into what may be the final two weekends at Whiteface Mountain, in Wilmington, N.Y.  Take advance to the warmer temperatures, longer days and super savings this Sunday, April 7, during Retro Sunday, presented by Bud Light.  Ski and ride the Olympic mountain all day for just $40 for adults, $35 for teens and $30 for juniors.

While at Whiteface, you’re also invited to participate in the annual pond skimming contest, which begins at 1 p.m.  This is your chance to win great prizes from Maui North, Cunningham’s Ski Barn and Viking Ski Shop.  Prizes will be awarded for distance, costume and biggest splash.

After the pond skimming contest, and a full day of skiing and riding the east’s greatest vertical, join the party in the Cloudspin Lounge with live music from Lucid and Bud and Bud Light specials and giveaways.  The party begins at 3 p.m.

Finally, don’t forget to purchase the new Ski3 pass for Whiteface Mountain, Gore Mountain, in North Creek, N.Y., and Belleayre Ski Resort, in Highmount, N.Y. and ski for free the rest of this season.  This is one big deal.  Combined that’s 7,000 vertical feet of skiing and riding on eight peaks, 882 acres, 32 glades and 227 trails.  The Ski3 pass is available through April 19 for just $739 for adults and seniors, $385 for young adults and college students and only $299 for juniors.

Whiteface boasts the East’s greatest vertical drop, and for 20 consecutive years, readers of Ski Magazine have tabbed Whiteface Lake Placid, N.Y. as the number-one destination for Off-Hill Activities.  Whiteface, Wilmington and Lake Placid also received high marks from the magazine’s readers for its scenery (#3), resort dining (#3), après ski (#3), challenging terrain (#7) and mountain character (#8).

Whiteface Lake Placid was also chosen by SnowEast Magazine readers as the East’s Destination Village.  The publication’s readers also tabbed Whiteface Lake Placid New York State’s Favorite Ski Resort and the East’s Most Scenic Resort.
