Viessmann World Cup Luge Returns to Lake Placid Dec. 12-16, 2018

LAKE PLACID, N.Y.  (November 05, 2018) --- The excitement of FIL Viessmann World Cup Luge racing returns to the famed Mt. Van Hoevenberg combined bobsled/luge/skeleton track, Dec. 12-18, 2018. Athletes from around the globe, from nations to include Austria, Canada, Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Russia, Ukraine, United States and others, are expected to compete in the fourth event of the eight-race World Cup series.

WHERE: Mt. Van Hoevenberg Olympic Sports Complex Track, 220 Bobsled Lane, Route 73, Lake Placid, N.Y. 12946

WHO: Athletes from around the globe, from nations to include Austria, Canada, Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Russia, Ukraine, United States and others

WHEN: Includes Training and Racing Times.

Wednesday, Dec. 12:

8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. – Press Center Operations Begin

9 a.m.- 6 p.m. – World Cup Training

Thursday, Dec. 13:

8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. – Press Center Operations

9 a.m.- 6 p.m. – World Cup Training

Friday, Dec. 14:

8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. – Press Center Operations

9:30 a.m. – Nation’s Cup Racing (World Cup Qualifying)

2:30 p.m. – World Cup Seeded Group Training

Saturday, Dec. 15:

7 a.m. – Press Center Opens

9 a.m. – Men’s Singles Heat #1

10:35 a.m. – Men’s Singles Heat #2

12:15 p.m. – Doubles Heat #1

1:15 p.m. Doubles Heat #2

Sunday, Dec. 16:

7 a.m. – Press Center Opens

8:30 a.m. – Women’s Singles Heat #1

9:55 a.m. – Women’s Singles Heat #2

12 p.m. – Men’s Singles Sprint Race

12:45 p.m. – Doubles Sprint Race

1:20 p.m. – Women’s Singles Sprint Race
