Boilermakers Recruit Apprentices |

Floral Park, NY (March 20, 2014) - The Joint Apprenticeship Committee for Boilermakers Northeast, Local Lodge #5, will conduct a recruitment from April 21, 2014 through March 16, 2015 for five boilermaker (construction) apprentices, State Labor Commissioner Peter M. Rivera announced today. Please note that the openings listed for apprentices represent the total number for three recruitment regions – the Hudson Valley, Long Island, and New York City regions. Applications can be obtained from Local Lodge #5, 24 Van Siclen Ave., Floral Park, NY from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on the third Monday of each month, excluding legal holidays, during the recruitment period. All applications must be received no later than March 16, 2015. Detailed information is available on the Boilermakers Northeast JAC website: www.neaac.net. The Committee requires that applicants:
For further information, applicants should contact their nearest New York State Department of Labor office or Local Lodge #5 at (516) 326-2500. Apprentice programs registered with the Department of Labor must meet standards established by the Commissioner. Under state law, sponsors of programs cannot discriminate against applicants because of race, creed, color, national origin, age, sex, disability, or marital status. Women and minorities are encouraged to submit applications for apprenticeship programs. Sponsors of programs are required to adopt affirmative action plans for the recruitment of women and minorities. |
