LAKE PLACID, N.Y. --- Beer enthusiasts unite! Don’t miss out on the second annual Lake Placid Brewfest, Saturday, Oct. 12, from 3-7 p.m., being held in the Olympic Center’s 1932 Rink.  Open to everyone 21 years and older, the Lake Placid Brewfest is sponsored by Lake Placid Pub & brewery, Great Adirondack Brewing Company, Saratoga Eagle and Craft Beer Guild Distributors of New York. 

Over 40 micro-brew companies and more than 80 different kinds of beer from around the country will be featured including Bell's Brewery, Inc. Kalamazoo, Mich.; Blue Point Brewing Company Patchogue, N.Y.; Blue Line Brewery Saranac Lake, N.Y.; Brooklyn Brewery Brooklyn, N.Y.; Dogfish Head Brewery Milton, Del.; The Olde Burnside Brewing Company, East Hartford, Conn.; Plattsburgh Brewing Company Plattsburgh, N.Y.; Sixpoint Brewery Brooklyn, N.Y.; Unibroue Brewery Chambly, Que. and many more.  For a complete list of breweries, visit http://www.whiteface.com/events/lake-placid-brewfest.

Each of the breweries will be on hand to offer samples and talk brewing. There will also be live music by Annie in the Water and food provided by Centerplate.

Craft brewing in one of the fastest growing industries in the United States, providing an estimated more than 103-thousand jobs. As of March 18, 2013, the Brewers Association is aware of 409 brewery openings in 2012. In 2012, craft brewers sold an estimated 13,235,917 barrels of beer.
