Service Changes are Part of Subway Action Plan,
Station Repairs and Other Ongoing Maintenance,

Repair and Upgrade Work for Improvements on the
               lines

These weekend service changes are part of the MTA Subway Action Plan, the Enhanced Station Initiative in Queens and Manhattan and ongoing maintenance, repair and upgrade work throughout the MTA New York City Transit subway system.  These programs maintain and upgrade track, signal, station and other infrastructure in order to provide MTA customers with safe and reliable service.  More information on the 2015-2019 Capital Program is available here.

This weekend, work crews will be dispersed throughout the entire subway system to perform a variety of critical tasks in the areas of track replacement and maintenance, signal modernization, station enhancements, electrical upgrades and communication improvements.  All of this work is aligned with the MTA Subway Action Plan, a comprehensive plan to stabilize and modernize the subway system by attacking the key drivers of 79 percent of delay-causing major incidents and strategically targeting additional personnel and equipment to focus on critical parts of the system.

From 4:45 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, May 26, and Sunday, May 27, uptown  trains skip 103 St, 110 St, 116 St, and 125 St due to track maintenance.  Use a downtown  to complete your trip.  Transfer at 168 St or 96 St.      

From 11:45 p.m. Friday, May 25, to 5 a.m. Tuesday, May 29,  trains make all  line weekend stops between Eastchester-Dyre Av  and E 180 St.  Transfer between  and  trains at E 180 St. 

From 11:45 p.m. Friday, May 25, to 5 a.m. Tuesday, May 29,  service will be suspended in Brooklyn due to Fix&Fortify Sandy Recovery Work in the Clark St Tunnel.  This project is part of MTA’s ongoing efforts to fix assets damaged during Sandy, and include repairs and rehabilitation of tracks, signals, pump rooms, fire protection system, and power and communication cables.

•  trains will not run in Brooklyn.  and  trains will run local in Brooklyn.  Service will not be available at the Clark St and Hoyt St stations.  As an alternative, use the nearby Borough Hall and Nevins St .   
•  trains will run between South Ferry and the Bronx, making local stops between Chambers St and 34 St.
•  trains will run between 14 St and Harlem-148 St. Transfer at Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr or Times Sq , or free out of system transfer between Bowling Green  and South Ferry .  
•  service will extend to New Lots Av except from 4:30 a.m. Saturday, May 26 to 10 p.m. Monday, May 28, when the last stop for all Brooklyn-bound  trains will be Crown Hts-Utica Av. Free shuttle buses will make all station stops between Crown Hts-Utica Av and New Lots Av during this time.  Transfer between trains and shuttle buses at Crown Hts-Utica Av. 
•  service will be extended to Flatbush Av-Brooklyn College to replace the .

From 5:45 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, May 26 and Sunday, May 27, Manhattan-bound  trains will run express between E 180 St and 3 Av- 149 St due to track maintenance.  Use a Dyre Av-bound  or 241 St-bound  to complete your trip.  Transfer at 149 St-Grand Concourse or E 180 St.  

From 4:30 a.m. Saturday, May 26 to 10 p.m. Sunday, May 28,  service is suspended in both directions between Crown Hts-Utica Av and New Lots Av due to track replacement.   service operates between Woodlawn and Crown Hts-Utica Av.  Free shuttle buses will make all station stops between Crown Hts-Utica Av and New Lots Av during this time.  Transfer between trains and shuttle buses at Crown Hts-Utica Av. 

From 11:45 p.m. Friday, May 25, to 5 a.m. Tuesday, May 29,  trains make all weekend  stops between Wakefield-241 St  and E 180 St.  Transfer between  and  trains at E 180 St. 

From 9:45 p.m. Friday, May 25, to 5 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, downtown  trains run express from 125 St to 59 St-Columbus Circle due to station enhancements.  Use an uptown  local or  to complete your trip.  Transfer at 59 St-Columbus Circle or 125 St.  As a reminder,  service does not run overnight.       

From 9:45 p.m. Friday, May 25, to 5 a.m. Tuesday, May 29,  service is suspended in both directions between Inwood-207 St and 168 St due to track maintenance.   trains will run between 168 St and Lefferts Blvd/Far Rockaway.   trains make nearby stops between 168 St and 207 St.  Free shuttle buses will operate along two routes: on Broadway, between 168 St and 207 St, and on Fort Washington Av, between 168 St and 190 St.  Transfer between trains and buses at 168 St. 

From 10 p.m. Friday, May 25, to 5 a.m. Monday, May 29,  trains stop at 155 St in both directions due to station rehabilitation work at 145 St and 168 St. 

At all times until September 2018  trains skip 163 St-Amsterdam Av in both directions due to MTA’s Enhanced Station Initiative project.  When this project is completed, customers will benefit from critical structural and safety repairs and improvements to concrete and steel features such as columns, beams, platforms, walls and stairs. There will also be other improvements and upgrades such as improved waterproofing, a reconfigured mezzanine area including new glass barriers, new security cameras, LED lighting for increased light and energy efficiency, and enhanced signage for easier navigation including digital, real-time service change and train and bus arrival information.  For alternate service during this closure, use the nearby 168 St AC, 155 St , or 157 St  instead.  Use M3, M100 or M101 buses and transfer to the  at 168 St or 155 St with MetroCard.  Need to transfer to another bus?  Ask the M3, M100 or M101 driver for a MetroCard Bus Transfer which is valid on your next local bus ride within two hours.  On your return trip, ask the station agent at 168 St or 155 St for a transfer to the bus.

Beginning 9 p.m. Friday, May 25,  service will end early due station enhancements at 72 St and 110 St.  Take the  and/or  instead.  As a reminder,  service does not run on weekends.  

At all times until September 2018,  trains will skip Cathedral Parkway-110 St in both directions due to MTA’s Enhanced Station Initiative project.  When this project is completed, customers will benefit from critical structural and safety repairs and improvements to concrete and steel features such as columns, beams, platforms, walls and stairs. There will also be other improvements and upgrades such as improved waterproofing, a reconfigured mezzanine area including new glass barriers, new security cameras, LED lighting for increased light and energy efficiency, and enhanced signage for easier navigation including digital, real-time service change and train and bus arrival information.  For alternate service during this closure, walk to the nearby  stations at 116 St and 103 St, along Fredrick Douglas Blvd/Central Park West.  Or take the  at 110 St, along Broadway.  Use the M10 bus along Fredrick Douglas Blvd and transfer to the  ( overnight) at 116 St or 103 St with MetroCard.  If you need to transfer to another bus, ask the M10 bus operator for a MetroCard Bus Transfer, which can be used on your next local bus ride within two hours.  On your return trip, ask the station agent at 116 St or 103 St for a transfer to the bus.

At all times until October 2018,  trains will skip 72 St in both directions due to MTA’s Enhanced Station Initiative project.  When this project is completed, customers will benefit from critical structural and safety repairs and improvements to concrete and steel features such as columns, beams, platforms, walls and stairs. There will also be other improvements and upgrades such as improved waterproofing, a reconfigured mezzanine area including new glass barriers, new security cameras, LED lighting for increased light and energy efficiency, and enhanced signage for easier navigation including digital, real-time service change and train and bus arrival information.  For alternate service during this closure,  Use nearby  stations at 81 St-Museum of Natural History and 59 St-Columbus Circle.  Or take the 123 at 72 St, along Broadway.  Use an M10 bus along Frederick Douglass Blvd and transfer to the  ( overnight) at 81 St or 59 St with MetroCard.  If you need to transfer to another bus, ask the M10 bus operator for a MetroCard Bus Transfer which can be used on your next local bus ride within two hours.  On your return trip, ask the station agent at 81 St or 59 St for a transfer to the bus.

From 9:45 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Friday, May 25, and from 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Saturday, May 26 to Monday, May 28,  service is suspended in both directions between 145 St and 168 St due to track maintenance.   trains will run between 145 St and Euclid Av.   trains will stop at 155 St.  Transfer at 145 St.   

From 9:45 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Friday, May 25, and from 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Saturday, May 26 to Monday, May 28, downtown  trains run express from 145 St to 59 St-Columbus Circle due to station enhancements.  Use an uptown  local or  to complete your trip.   trains stop at 135 St.  Transfer at 59 St-Columbus Circle, 125 St, or 145 St. 

From 9:30 p.m. Friday, May 25, to 5 a.m. Tuesday, May 29,  service is rerouted in both directions via the  express between 59 St-Columbus Circle and Jay St-MetroTech, and via the  between Jay St-MetroTech and Coney Island-Stillwell Av due to signal improvements.  Use  stations on 8 Av or  stations on Broadway to complete your trip.   trains will make all  line station stops between Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr and Coney Island-Stillwell Av.  Free shuttle buses will operate between W 4 St-Wash Sq and Grand St.  Transfer at Times Sq-42 St/Port Authority , Jay St-MetroTech , or 4 Av-9 St . 

From 11:45 p.m. Friday, May 25, to 5 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, Manhattan-bound  trains skip Briarwood, and 75 Av due to track maintenance.  Use a Jamaica Center-bound  or Jamaica-bound  to complete your trip.  Transfer at 71 Av, Union Tpke, or Jamaica Van Wyck .  As a reminder,  service is extended to 179 St, days and evenings. 

From 11:45 p.m. Friday, May 25, to 5 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, Manhattan-bound  trains run express from 71 Av to Roosevelt Av due to track replacement.  Use a Jamaica Center-bound  local or Jamaica-bound  to complete your trip.  Transfer at Roosevelt Av or 71 Av to complete your trip.  As a reminder,  service is extended to 179 St, days and evenings. 

At all times until mid 2018, Manhattan-bound  trains skip Avenue U, Avenue P, Avenue N, Bay Pkwy and Avenue I due to station renewal work on the Culver Line .  When finished, more than 27,000 daily customers will benefit from repaired staircases, fare control areas, walls, floors, platform girders, new platform windscreens, rubbing boards, tactile warning strips, improved lighting and artwork. 

• For service to these stations, take a Manhattan-bound  train to Kings Hwy or 18 Av and transfer to a Coney Island-Stillwell Av bound .
• For service from these stations, take a Coney Island-Stillwell Av bound  train to Kings Hwy or Avenue X and transfer to a Manhattan-bound .

From 9:30 p.m. Friday, May 25, to 5 a.m. Tuesday, May 29,  service is rerouted in both directions via the Q express between Lexington Av/63 St and Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr, and via the  between Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr and Coney Island-Stillwell Av due to signal improvements.  Use  stations on 8 Av or  stations on Broadway to complete your trip.   trains will make all  line station stops between Jay St-MetroTech and Coney Island-Stillwell Av.  Transfer at Times Sq-42 St/Port Authority , Canal St , or Jay St-MetroTech .  Free shuttle buses will run along two routes: between W 4 St-Wash Sq and East Broadway, and between Jay St-MetroTech and York St.    

From 9:45 p.m. Friday, May 25, to 5 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, Coney Island-Stillwell Av bound  trains skip Union St, 4 Av-9St, Prospect Av, and 25 St  stations due to signal improvements.   trains will make all  line station stops in Brooklyn.  Use a Manhattan-bound  local or  to complete your trip.  Transfer at 36 St or Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr. 

From 11:45 p.m. Friday, May 25, to 5 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, Manhattan-bound  trains skip Sutphin Blvd, Briarwood and 75 Av due to track replacement.  Use a Jamaica Center-bound  or Jamaica-bound  to complete your trip.  Transfer at 71 Av, Union Tpke, or Parsons Blvd .  As a reminder,  service is extended to 179 St, days and evenings. 

At all times until Summer 2018, Jamaica Center Parsons/Archer-bound  trains skip 121 St due to station rehabilitation work.  For service to this station, take the  to Sutphin Blvd and transfer to a Broad St-bound .  As a reminder, Broad St-bound  trains skip 121 St from 7:15 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. on weekdays; take the  instead.  For service from this station, take the  to 111 St and transfer to a Jamaica Center-bound . 

Beginning 8:30 p.m. Friday, May 25,  service will end early between 71 Av and Delancey-Essex Sts due to signal maintenance. 

At all times until fall 2018, Coney Island-Stillwell Av bound  trains skip Fort Hamilton Pkwy, New Utrecht Av, 18 Av, 20 Av, Kings Hwy, Avenue U and 86 St due to station rehabilitation work at nine stations on the Sea Beach Line.  When finished, this will yield a better travel experience for our customers including the installation of elevators at 8 Av and New Utrecht Av stations, providing our mobility impaired customers with better accessibility, upgraded communication systems, installation of Help Point intercoms, new stairways and handrails, reconstructed platforms and overpasses, repairs to canopies and columns, and artwork.

• For service to these stations, take the Coney Island-Stillwell Av bound  to Bay Pkwy or Coney Island-Stillwell Av and transfer to a Manhattan-bound .
• For service from these stations, take a Manhattan-bound  to Bay Pkwy or 8 Av and transfer to a Coney Island-Stillwell Av bound .
• For New Utrecht Av-62 St, take the  Transfer between  and  trains at 36 St or Coney Island-Stillwell Av.

At all times until the end of June 2018,  trains skip 30 Av and 36 Av in both directions due to MTA’s Enhanced Station Initiative project.  When this project is completed, customers will benefit from critical structural and safety repairs and improvements to concrete and steel features such as columns, beams, platforms, walls and stairs. There will also be other improvements and upgrades such as improved waterproofing, a reconfigured mezzanine area including new glass barriers, new security cameras, LED lighting for increased light and energy efficiency, and enhanced signage for easier navigation including digital, real-time service change and train and bus arrival information.  There will also be a new staircase for exiting from the 30 Av Astoria-bound platform to the street-level intersection of 30th Avenue and Newtown Avenue.  For alternate service during this closure, use the nearby open Astoria line stations for  service at Broadway, Astoria Blvd, and 39 Av, or go to the Steinway St or 36 St  stations.  Or, use the following convenient bus route(s):

• Q102 to open Astoria line stations, Queensboro Plaza  or Queens Plaza
• Q18 to Northern Blvd .
• Q66 to Steinway St , Northern Blvd , 21 St-Queensbridge , Queensboro Plaza , and Queens Plaza .
• Q69 and Q100 Ltd to 21 St-Queensbridge , Queens Plaza , Queensboro Plaza .

From 9:30 p.m. Friday, May 25, to 5 a.m. Tuesday, May 29,  trains are rerouted via the  Line (Lower Manhattan) in both directions between Canal St and DeKalb Av due to signal improvements.  Trains will stop at City Hall, Cortlandt St, Rector St, Whitehall St, Court St and Jay St-MetroTech. 

From 3:45 a.m. Saturday, May 26 to 10 p.m. Monday, May 28,  trains are suspended in both directions between Ditmars Blvd and Queensboro Plaza due to track replacement.   trains will run between Queensboro Plaza and Coney Island-Stillwell Av.  Free shuttle buses will make all station stops between Ditmars Blvd and Queensboro Plaza.  Transfer between trains and buses at Queensboro Plaza. 

From 9:45 p.m. Friday, May 25, to 5 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, Coney Island-Stillwell Av bound  and Bay Ridge-bound  trains run express in Brooklyn from Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr to 59 St due to signal improvements.  Use a Manhattan-bound ,  local or  to complete your trip.  Transfer at 59 St , 36 St , or Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr.  As a reminder,  trains make  line station stops in Brooklyn. 

From 5:30 a.m. to 12 midnight, Saturday, May 26, to Monday, May 28,  service will operate to/from the 179 St  station due to signal improvements.  Manhattan-bound  trains skip Sutphin Blvd, Briarwood and 75 Av  stations.
