About the New York AAPI Commission: Governor Hochul signed Chapter 43 of the Laws of 2024 on February 7, 2024, establishing the Commission within state law at Section 94-d of the Executive Law. The Commission achieved its quorum and full membership on September 19, 2024. Comprising thirteen members from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds, the New York AAPI Commission is dedicated to advancing issues important to New York’s AAPI communities. With expertise spanning community services, mental health, youth development, social justice, economic empowerment, philanthropy and more, the Commissioners are united in their mission to ensure community voices shape actionable policy recommendations.
