Statement from MTA Communications Director Tim Minton on return of Metro-North service throughout the Bronx

Full service has resumed on Metro-North Railroad’s New Haven and Harlem Lines, which were impacted at approximately 3AM on Saturday by an emergency condition at a State DOT bridge project in the Bronx. The unexpected urgent condition made it unsafe to operate trains in the area. Working with New York City Transit and other bus carriers, Metro-North was able to establish a shuttle bus service for its customers during the period that normal service was suspended. Customers experienced delays and some crowding during this bus shuttle operation, and their patience under these difficult circumstances was greatly appreciated.

  • Hourly service on New Haven and Harlem lines through approximately 4:00pm
  • Regular Saturday service begins at approximately 4:00pm
