I applaud President Biden and EPA Administrator Regan as they work to reverse the misguided and environmentally destructive policies of the last administration. Today’s announcement is a step in the right direction to restore New York’s authority to regulate projects that impact water quality within our borders and help sustain our efforts to safeguard the environment and public health. There’s no one-size-fits-all when it comes to protecting water, but undoing this power grab is a recognition that state authority and expertise are critical elements of effective regulatory programs.
