Skate America will be held Nov. 24-25, 2017, at the 1980 Herb Brooks Arena.
All-event tickets, starting at $125, will be available at www.2017skateamerica.com or by calling 518-523-3330.
Skate America will be the sixth and final competition of the 2017 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series. Other stops on the Grand Prix Series include Skate Canada International, Rostelecom Cup, Trophée de France, Cup of China and NHK Trophy. Skaters earn points throughout the Grand Prix Series to qualify for the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final each December.
The event will feature three days of competition in ladies, men’s, pairs and ice dance. The field of competitors will include 60 world-class athletes, including Olympic and World competitors and hopefuls and national champions.
Past Skate America titlists include five-time World champion and two-time Olympic medalist Michelle Kwan and Olympic champions Kristi Yamaguchi, Scott Hamilton, Evan Lysacek and Meryl Davis and Charlie White.
The field of American and international competitors for 2017 Skate America will be announced next summer. – U.S. Figure Skating – U.S. Figure Skating is the national governing body for the sport of figure skating in the United States as recognized by the United States Olympic Committee and the International Skating Union. U.S. Figure Skating is comprised of more than 700 member clubs, collegiate clubs, school-affiliated clubs and more than 1,000 registered Learn to Skate USA programs representing more than 181,700 members. U.S. Figure Skating is charged with the development of the sport on all levels within the United States including athletes, officials, sanctioning of events and exhibitions, and establishing the rules and guidelines by which the sport is governed.
