Lane Closure at RFK Bridge Queens-to-Manhattan Ramp

Work Requires Long-term Single Lane and Other Short-Term Closures

Starting Monday, August 15, 2016 and through early 2018, one lane will be closed on the Queens-to-Manhattan ramp at the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge for roadway rehabilitation. Two of three lanes on the ramp will remain open during peak travel hours. An additional lane may be closed during overnight hours as needed, but one lane will always remain open during these periods.

In addition, on Thursday, August 18 and Friday, August 19, there will be a series of intermittent FULL ramp closures, lasting 15-20 minutes each, as follows:

  • Thursday, 8/18 from 11:59pm to 4am Fri., 8/19
  • Friday, 8/19 from 11:59pm to 4am Sat., 8/20

All work is weather-dependent. Motorists should expect delays and plan accordingly, or use an alternate route.

Motorists can sign up for MTA e-mail or text alerts at www.mta.info and check the Bridges and Tunnels homepage or Facebook page for the latest information on this planned work.
