Line Workers Recruit Apprentices |

Douglassville, PA (October 8, 2013) - The Northeastern Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee for the Outside Electrical Industry will conduct a recruitment from October 15, 2013 through October 10, 2014 for 10-20 electrical (outside) line worker apprentices, State Labor Commissioner Peter M. Rivera announced today. Applications may be obtained from Northeastern Joint Apprenticeship and Training, 1513 Ben Franklin Highway, Douglassville, PA from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding legal holidays, during the recruitment period. Applications may also be obtained online at www.NEAT1968.org. Please note, there is a $22 testing fee and an $8 processing fee required with all completed applications. Applicants may request that these fees be waived. Fee waivers will be approved upon showing verifiable proof of financial need. The Committee requires that applicants:
For further information, applicants should contact their nearest New York State Department of Labor office or Northeastern Joint Apprenticeship and Training at (610) 326-2860. Apprentice programs registered with the Department of Labor must meet standards established by the Commissioner. Under state law, sponsors of programs cannot discriminate against applicants because of race, creed, color, national origin, age, sex, disability, or marital status. Women and minorities are encouraged to submit applications for apprenticeship programs. Sponsors of programs are required to adopt affirmative action plans for the recruitment of women and minorities. |
