DEC FOREST RANGERS & EMPLOYEES RETURN FROM FIGHTING OREGON WILDFIRE

Crew Spent Two Weeks Helping to Contain the Stouts Creek Wildfire

Crew Members Available to Talk to Media Upon Their Return

WHO: The New York firefighting crew including rangers, employees and volunteers across the state, DEC Acting Commissioner Marc Gerstman and DEC Assistant Commissioner for Public Protection and Regional Affairs, Chris Ballantyne.

WHAT: A 20-member New York firefighting crew that traveled to the State of Oregon to assist in the containment of the Stouts Creek wildfire will return to New York. The crew, comprised of DEC forest rangers, employees and volunteers had been working to contain the 25,000 +acre wildfires near Milo, Oregon for the past two weeks.
