MEDIA ADVISORY: STATE PREPAREDNESS TRAINING CENTER TO HOST TACTICAL TRAINING SESSION FOR TROY AND COLONIE POLICE DEPARTMENTS

On Thursday, December 6, 2018, the City of Troy and Town of Colonie police departments will participate in Close Quarter Tactics training at New York State’s 1,100 acre, state-of-the-art Preparedness Training Center.

During these advanced tactical training sessions, officers from both departments will team together inside the facility’s mock CityScape and office complex to hone the skills necessary for handling some of the most dangerous situations faced by law enforcement.  This includes everything from precision shooting to building sweeps and room clearing.  Further, these types of collaborative exercises highlight the value of cooperation and service sharing amongst different law enforcement agencies during these situations.

Aside from being able to gain an inside look at the facility’s wide range of training assets and resources available to law enforcement, State Homeland Security officials and officers from both departments will be available to discuss the training and their experience at the Center.
