Media Advisory: New York State Tax Commissioner and NYS Taxpayer Advocate Host Community Tax Summit in Kingston

Location: Mid-Hudson Small Business Development Center on the Ulster County Community College Campus, 1 Development Court, Kingston, NY 12401

  • New York State Taxpayer Rights Advocate Camille Siano Enders

Event:  Top officials from the New York State Tax Department will meet with representatives from more than one dozen local non-profit, community and government groups.   The event will focus on the Department's effort to grow services that benefit low to moderate-income and under-served taxpayers.  Among the topics to be addressed are: improved services that promote financial literacy, new tax preparer regulations, services available from the Taxpayer Rights Advocate, and the Earned Income Tax Credit, which can save New Yorkers up to $8,000.

Directions: Take the NYS Thruway (I-87) to Exit 19, Kingston. After toll booth, go half way around the traffic circle to Col. Chandler Drive (I-587) to first stop light at end of road. Turn left at stop light into Albany Ave. Count seven stop lights. Turn left into parking lot of Ulster County Office Complex. Look for Business Resource Center at left side of parking lot/building. Mid-Hudson SBDC is in right side of entrance lobby.
