The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) today announced it will be holding a pop-up recruitment event in Vanderbilt Hall at Grand Central Terminal on Wednesday, Aug. 23, from 12:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The MTA-wide event will have representatives from each of its agencies and allow candidates to meet with recruiters, schedule interviews, and schedule exams for certain jobs.

There are hundreds of job openings at each of the MTA Agencies and in support units including IT, Occupational Health Services, Diversity and Civil Rights, and Procurement. Representatives will also showcase some of the Authority’s hard to hire positions, including Railcar Electrical Mechanics, Elevator & Escalator Maintainers, Project Managers, and Associate Engineers.

“The MTA is committed to providing opportunities for good-paying jobs with room for growth, and we are using creative tools to recruit and train New Yorkers into those jobs,” said MTA Chief Administrative Officer Lisette Camilo. “This recruitment event demonstrates our commitment, and I’m excited to provide opportunities to help build the next generation of projects and keep the region moving.”

“The MTA includes professionals in a variety of positions, from bus and train operators to engineers, accountants, policy experts and more,” said MTA Chief People Officer Hugo Pizarro. “Our employees improve the communities they live in and help strengthen the economic health of the region.”

Minimum qualifications for these career opportunities include having a high school diploma or equivalent, be 18 years of age or older, and being legally eligible to work in the United States.
