On Thursday, April 21, New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) Commissioner Basil Seggos will announce a statewide enforcement detail to inspect trucks traveling roadways, especially in disadvantaged communities impacted by pollution, for compliance with New York’s stringent air regulations. This media availability is taking place as part of DEC’s Earth Week commemoration and will include Environmental Conservation Police Officers (ECOs) demonstrating how inspections are performed in the field and explaining the importance of protecting air quality and the climate from harmful diesel emissions.
