OGS ANNOUNCES FREE ‘HARLEMWEEN’ FAMILY-FRIENDLY EVENT AT THE ADAM CLAYTON POWELL, JR. STATE OFFICE BUILDING

Event to Feature Costume Contests, Candy Giveaways, Live Entertainment, and More

New York State Office of General Services (OGS) Commissioner RoAnn Destito today announced the annual HarlemWeen family-friendly event will be held from 2 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, October 31 at the Adam Clayton Powell, Jr. State Office Building at 163 West 125th Street in Harlem.

“Making the best use of our public spaces is a priority for us at OGS, and the plaza in front of the Harlem State Office Building is a great location for holding family-friendly events throughout the year,” Commissioner Destito said. “I invite all our neighbors and friends to put on their costumes and come out for some free Harlemween fun.”

There will be activities and performances throughout the event, including:

  • Costume contests
  • Storytelling by April Armstrong
  • A dance demo with Joye Moses Harper and the Harlem School of the Arts
  • Music by DJ Stormin’ Norman
  • Stilt walking by Brooklyn Jumbies Inc.
  • Magic by Jazzman “S” Magic
  • Candy giveaways (while supplies last)

Sponsors include the Harlem Community Development Corporation, SUNY Manhattan Educational Opportunity Center, WBLS 107.5 FM, NYS Council on the Arts, and the Greater Harlem Chamber of Commerce.
