NYS Office of General Services Hosts Reception for Empire State Plaza Student Art Exhibit on Thursday, March 16

WHAT: Each year, the NYS Office of General Services (OGS) celebrates National Youth Art Month with a reception for K-8 student artists who participate in the annual Empire State Plaza Art Collection Student Exhibition now on view at the Empire State Plaza. The 2023 exhibit features more than 1,300 pieces of art created by students from 17 Capital Region school districts. The student exhibit is the result of a collaboration between OGS Curatorial and Visitor Services and the Capital Area Art Supervisors. Through special tours and educational resources, the program introduces the Plaza Art Collection into the curriculum of local elementary and middle schools, where the students are invited to create their own works of art by interpreting the Plaza Art Collection.

WHEN: The reception will be held 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 16

WHERE: Empire State Plaza south concourse, which is closest to the Madison Avenue entrance.
