MEDIA ADVISORY: New York State, EPA & City of Rochester to Break Ground on a Project to Ensure Clean & Healthy Drinking Water |

On Thursday, August 1, the State of New York, the Environmental Protection Agency, and the City of Rochester will celebrate the groundbreaking of a crucial project to replace lead service lines in the City’s drinking water system. Join the New York State Environmental Facilities Corporation (EFC), the New York State Department of Health (DOH), the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the City of Rochester to learn how the State’s Water Infrastructure Improvement (WIIA) grant program is supporting this critical project and jumpstarting the City’s plan to replace all lead service lines by 2030. This project is being highlighted by the EPA as the type of project that will benefit from federal Bipartisan Infrastructure Law funding. Leveraging BIL funding with the State’s investments will continue to empower local communities to make critical system improvements that protect public health.
