Four Lottery Winners Presented $24.5 Million in Prizes

Yolanda Vega & Kylie McDonald today presented ceremonial prize checks worth a cumulative $24.5 million to four of New York’s newest Lottery millionaires. The event was held at Resorts World Casino in Queens, the highest-grossing video lottery casino in the United States.

 

Brooklyn Man Wins $7,000,000 Jackpot on CASH4LIFE

Sixty-five-year-old Rafael Gomez of Brooklyn is the most recent winner of the $7,000,000 CASH4LIFE jackpot prize.  Gomez matched all six numbers drawn for the April 4 drawing.

 

“I was mystified when I realized I won the jackpot!” exclaimed Gomez.  “I put the ticket in a bible at home for safekeeping.”

 

The winning CASH4LIFE numbers for the April 4 drawing were 3-6-8-9-35 Cash Ball 04.

 

Gomez opted to receive his prize as a one-time lump sum payment totaling $4,431,280 after required withholdings.

 

“I plan to share the money with my family and wait for some direction on the rest,” said Gomez.

 

The winning ticket was purchased at Bles Broadway Food on Broadway in Brooklyn.

 

Gomez is the 51st New York Lottery player to claim a prize totaling $1,000,000 or more this year.

 

Queens Man Wins Lottery Prize of a Lifetime

Twenty-seven-year-old Jason Pae of Flushing is Queens County’s newest Lottery multi-millionaire.  Pae won the guaranteed $5,000,000 jackpot prize on the popular Set for Life scratch-off ticket.

 

“I was on my way home from work and stopped at the deli for some Gatorade,” explained Pae.  “I scratched the ticket in the store and my first thought was ‘WOW!’”

 

Pae purchased his jackpot winner at the Maruti 149 Corporation on 41st Street in Flushing.  He opted to receive his prize in annual installments of $260,000 before withholdings. Pae will receive a net check totaling $164,590 annually for the rest of his life.

 

Queens County’s newest Lottery multi-millionaire knows exactly how he will spend his newfound fortune.  “First I plan to visit my family in Korea. Then I hope to start my own business.”

 

Pae is the 50th New York Lottery player to claim a prize totaling $1,000,000 or more this year.

Bronx Man Wins Guaranteed $2.5M Jackpot on a $2,500 a Week for Life Scratch-off Ticket

Twenty-seven-year-old Dale Davis of the Bronx won the $2,500,000 jackpot prize on a $2,500 a Week for Life scratch-off ticket.  Davis said it is a ticket that he likes to play often.

 

“I like this ticket because I’ve won a few times on it in the past,” explained Davis. “When I saw that I won the jackpot I couldn’t believe it!  I re-read the instructions a couple of times before I believed it.”

 

Davis purchased his jackpot winner at Pay-O-Matic on Scholes Street in Brooklyn. He opted to receive his prize in annual installments of $130,000 before withholdings. Davis will receive a net check totaling $82,295 annually for the rest of his life.

 

Davis is still deciding how he will send his newfound wealth.  “Honestly, it hasn’t really hit me yet.  I hope to help out others, save and invest.”

 

Davis is the 52nd New York Lottery player to claim a prize totaling $1,000,000 or more this year.

Long Island Man Wins $10,000,000 Jackpot on Lottery Scratch-off Ticket

Fifty-four-year-old Juan Hernandez of Hempstead is Long Island’s newest Lottery multi-millionaire.  Hernandez won the $10,000,000 top prize on a $350,000,000 Cash Spectacular scratch-off ticket.

 

“I was so happy when I won,” said Hernandez.  “I scanned the ticket in the checker and then signed it right away!”

 

Hernandez purchased his lucky ticket the Food Mart & Convenience on Hempstead Avenue in West Hempstead.  He will receive his prize as a one-time lump sum payment totaling $6,718,000 after required withholdings.

 

“The first thing I will do is pay off the mortgage on my house,” he said.

 

Hernandez is the 45th New York Lottery player to claim a prize totaling $1,000,000 or more this year.

 

The New York Lottery contributed $1,263,968,814 in Lottery Aid to Education to school districts throughout the five boroughs of New York City during fiscal year 2018-2019.

 

The New York Lottery contributed $150,063,711 in Lottery Aid to Education to school districts in Nassau County during fiscal year 2018-2019.
